destroyed xbox video port. i have a dead xbox thati use for parts it has a good port, but having trouble de soldering the darn thing, using a 30 watt iron tried wick and a desolder pump,

i've desoldered thing in the past but not that small of pins and stuff

need some help

all help appreciated

If the board is dead cut it out to make it more manageable, There are a lot of pins to get hot all at the same time, Don`t like the sound of that job.

I saw a tut the other day somewhere about adding a strip of wire between two of the pins to allow it to boot up into normal av out mode without a cable plugged in ( noticed it because i wanted to do the rca out thing )

If we can find out that info on the pin header then maybee you could just hardwire a cable to your xbox.

oK so the rca thread has the info for it, although that isn`t the one i saw cos it doesn`t have s - video in the diagram or any of the other ways to jam the xbox in diffrent modes, I`ll keep looking

Thanks Blighty, but He and I got it figured out.

He has actually made a Tut that he posted a link to. (in Newbie Central I believe). It's pretty detailed.

I found a detailed Schematic, and posted it in his other thread, if you are interested.
