i think i have a real old chip it did not support the harddrive upgrade but i had evox working great until i accidentally chose a xbox live game. when i hit the live button my old dash didnt have live so it automatically updated my dashboard to a newer live dash. it still plays copied cdrw,dvd+&-r &rw's which is good but i cant get my evox back can anyone help me????? thanks

xman420 back again. ok i got slayers evox auto installer to load off a dvdrw i formatted the drive completely then reloaded it fresh then i reinstalled evox and the same thing happens when i power up xbox live dash takes over. i used one of the apps to identify my chip and bios like i said its old and misleadingthe bios checker says it has enigmah-x (3944 mixed) bios and homebrew (0x90) chip whaterver that means.i am wondering now if i might have to flash the eeprom because the chip still works on burned media and original games, and completly wipeing the harddrive out and reloading did nothing. is there anything i can try that wont wipe out my xbox?

I had the same chip many years ago.. It was my first xbox mod.
I installed ENIGMAH-X too because they were the only modchips available for xboxes.. They are shit!
You cant upgrade your hdd and tonnes of other stuff like the NO EJECT FIXES dont work.
I would suggest fitting a new modchip to the xbox and flashing it with the latest hacked m$ bios.. Then you can upgrade your HDD and use the XBOX-HQ AUTO INSTALLER v1.2 to format and install evox for you..
It also installs all the latest apps like: XBMC, LinksBoks, PXHDDLoader and all the rest.
thanks anyway but i got it together myself thanks to the 1 pesron who replied but as you see a determined mind is a terrible thing to watse thanks to anyone else who tries to help.
