I have the Xenium Ice set up on a v1.0 using the USA also. No solder at all. The SP.Ice comes with a template and addaptor for v1.6 mobos. For v1.0-v1.4 the Ice and USA is all that is needed.

Dang, I wish somebody told me about that solderless method. Not even having to remove the old solder, thats genius. I sat downstairs in this little room soldering for like 3 hours trying to get everything soldered in. Not that I am complaining, as mine does work.

At first I did only solder the two end points, one on each side, trying to skip all the other soldering, but that ended up not working as the pins kept coming up from the board. But I didn't have the usa adapter or anything.

I would definitely try what they did, just laying it on top of the old solder holding it in using the screw, and if that doesn't work, than just solder. its not that bad and it will definitely be more permanent.
