hello, ladies and gentleman-
I have been trying to figure how to change the names of the emulators(for example change the name of the FCE to Nintendo)I have went through xboxexplorer and changed the name thru there, but on the dashboard menu it still reads the original name(such as FCE)I cant seem to find how to change these...any suggestions?
Thanks guys

You need to change the name in the evox.ini file
the name you change there affect`s the menu tab that it boot`s from
you can also change the .xbe title,
I always use unleashx for this as it always works.

Rather then manually editing every title name in your evox menu etc etc i would just grab the default.xbe and use a HEADER rename tool like QWIX or others to rename the actual header name.. Thats where the dashboards lookup the name from.. the header of the default.xbe

Hi,
Since you are such a newbie it wont be that simple. To do it with my method you have to do this..
1. FTP into your xbox
2. Goto the directory of the game/app you want to change the name of
3. copy the default.xbe from the xbox harddrive to your pc somewhere
4. Now open QWIX
5. Choose CREATE/MAKE ISO
6. Add the 'default.xbe' to the .iso
7. Now there is a option down the bottom left to change the name of the default.xbe (GAME/APP).
8. Change the name to whatever you want and create a xiso somewhere.
9. it will ask where you want to save the xiso. Save it on your pc somewhere.
10. Now with QWIX choose EXTRACT ISO option
11. Click open and choose the newly create xiso you just made
12. EXTRACT the default.xbe from inside that .iso you made and your default.xbe will now have a new name.
Thats it.. Backup the old default.xbe and copy your new one over to the xbox and reboot.. The name should be changed..
There are much more simpler ways to do this too but i havent seen or used any other software for sometime.

I followed the instructions with qwix, but when I get to the files, qwix does not seem to see the default.xbe after I place it on my PC...maybe I dont have the right version? I have qwix 1.01...

The option is there.. You may have a older version or arent looking hard enough.. Its all good i know it works so just try another version of QWIX..
There is a option in the lower left hand portion of the screen which says something about changing the name.. I cant remember its been ages.
