A few games I've backed up to my HDD have quit running. I select them from the automenu, screen goes dark, then I'm brought back to the menu. These games have worked previously. This made me say "hhhhmmmmmm!!!!".

Now, DVD2Xbox locks up when I try to reinstall the games from the original discs. It freezes at the initial menu. Other games seem to run fine, but I can't seem to backup ANY games.

What's going on here? Are these two separate issues or two manifestations of the same problem?

How would you troubleshoot this? Software issue? HDD issue? Mod Chip issue? BIOS issue?

Sounds possibly like a software issue, but not 100% sure.

Have you done anything like change the Dashboard?

No, haven't really changed anything, except I turned all the IGRs off after the problem surfaced just to see what happened (nothing, as expected).

Hm, that's all I can think of apart from maybe re-installing your EvoX Dashboard. Apart from that it could be a more serious problem...
