I bought a premoded xbox with the above chip installed and have a few questions.
I was wondering what 2 of the 3 switchws are on the front control to turn the chip functions on and off are for?

I know that the one closest to the lite is to turn the chip on or off.

The second one the one in the middle says protect, unprotect. What is this for?

The third one the farthest from the light sya banks 1 and banks 2. Also what is this for?

Do I have to turn these on or off to flash the bios. Also I do not know the version of the bios I have is there someway to tell? I have tried using the programs on the harddrive but they come back bios unknown. Thanks

The protect Unprotect switch allows you to protect the bios from being flashed. You need to set it into unprotect mode to flash it.
Bank 1 and Bank 2 allow you to have multiple BIOS on the chip to choose from.

Ok just to make sure that I understand this, I put on bank one and unprotected and can reflash the bios and if I switch to bank two and unprotected I can flash the bios another way so that I have multiple ones to choose from for booting purposes? What is the advantages or disadvantages of doing this. I am sorry I am still new to all of this. Thanks for the quick answer.
