Hi all!
Has anyone gotten any version of Mame to run on Xebian? Or any linux environment for that matter? I keep downloading different verisons of it, but some how the installation instructions always refer to files that weren't included in the download. And the one's that were cannot be accessed due to permission instructions. I tried to change the permisions with chmod, but they always become unrunable. It says it has a "bad interpreter". If someone knows of a realativly up to date tutoral, that would be great. thanks!

I just use MAMEdoX. There's a few mame builds for xbox already, so I don't understand why you'd want to try and get them running through linux.

Well, that would certainly make things simpler. In fact I have mamedox 1.0 on the xbox, but I can't seem to get it to run. I've read about some people trying to run it through evox, so I looked into evox, but everything I read starts by assumeing I have a mod chip (and I don't). Do I have to have evox to run mamedox? If so, do i have to have a chip for evox? And if I don't need evox, is mamedox just supposed to show up on the dash board? That seems to be the impression I get when reading the readme's that came with the download. But it get's worse, when I try to follow the steps in the readme files , I get stuck when it starts talking about putting things on the E partition. After I installed Xebian, it wiped out all my partitions in the /mnt dir. Now that I think about it, I don't know where it loads it's normal dash board from, or where it puts it's normal xbox game saves. So after all the madness, I thought maybe it might be easier to find a version of mame that runs on Xebian.
