This site...and the experts that give their time to help others out and bring them up from green leaf to xbox modding mofugas....dang!
I'd just like to say bravo!
A few weeks ago I didn't have clue how an xbox worked. (I figured there was lil squirel with a monocle and a calculator or something.) With their help I've been able to sodder in a mod chip, install the required software and installer a larg HDD.
It takes patients to teach someone from the very very basics (duh...whats a megabyte?....) The people that run this site have that patients and are willing to help. _________________ xbox v1.4

When I first seen this site advertised in another forum I had to check it out. After about half hour of searching the forums and seen how the answers to questions were layed out and no S--t talking and bashing..Had to join..I did only a year sub to the site to get the entire feel...I will honestly say that becoming a VIP member is well worth it. After my year is up, I will be a lifetime member for this site..
The support and from the Admins and the members is great..The best site I have found for any XBOX addict...
Great job and keep up the good work goes out to all................... _________________ Xbox v1.3

you mean it isnt?
Im so embassased, all this time Ive been feeding my Xbox acorns to stay alive. I assumed the grinding noise was from him munching and the smoke was from his squirelly callabash pipe. (because no squirel with a monicle is complete without his pipe) _________________ -Scourge "Rx = +/_\"

I have to agree with all of the other members. In all of the other sites I've visited looking for info all you find is a bunch of kids who think they know everything, always trying to one-up each other and bag on each other, there is no substance on those sites. Not only are all of the members and administrators super-helpful and friendly, but this site offers the best info if you want to get into modding. The site is awsome. What's even more awsome is the unbelievable perks you get from becoming a V.I.P. Member, especially for the way-cheap donation, you'll make up that with your first V.I.P. D/L! No joke. Look no further, sign up now!

I don't know if I'm supposed to be posting here, since I'm not a VIP member, yet. I enjoy supporting projects like these in anyway I can (usually I just offer my knowledge) but recently, since I've had my site up and running for a while, I decided that there are other ways to contribute. I still offer my knowledge, but I realise that sites do cost money, so do servers and so on. So, as I did with xBC, I'll also be purchasing the paid subscription here - no, it's not to leech off the FTP or anything like that, it's purely for the support of the site. _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world: those who understand binary, and those who can't.

rav3n2k you may post where ever you wish. You have a valid point regarding the different types of support here. Some come to ask questions and contribute knowledge but never decide to financially support the site. Some contribute $ and never say a word. Much to the dismay of Forahobby and others.... I paid some $ and haven't shut up since. Like I said, there should be balance.
The donation part is something that you won't hear much about. Unlike member supported TV stations and the like, we don't have telethons and we don't have pop up's asking if you've donated today.
You are correct that the place costs $ and we've been fortunate that the members that come here and sign up soon realize the value a $10 donation has. Funny that there are other sites out there all sorts of angry because we have members that help with the costs, while they are out there begging from companies. The member support (purely voluntary) is because folks want to contribute. This place is so very different from the company supported sites because the members really do care about it and it's users. I've never seen anyone that is a VIP tell someone they won't help someone that isn't. I have seen the other sites tell people they won't help, need to do their homework and then flame them.
Now what was I saying before I hopped on that soap box?

I believe this site has the easiest to access and most comprehensive info anywhere. I love this place not just for the info but because of the community feeling. We are a big gang and if you mess with us we will do a drive by on your house. Hey ask Ronnie

I was a bit stingy this time round (I only donated 10 bucks), but next time I'll be sure to get the "lifetime" package. (It'll be before this one expires.) I'm not too sure how active I'll be, but I'm active in most forums (including my own), and I like to gain knowledge, and share my own in the process of doing so.
As a VIP member, I feel that I'm helping the site, which is the main reason you should be getting it. _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world: those who understand binary, and those who can't.
Guys all i gotta say is when i first signed up i accidently donated twice, i was mad at first but now i feel like donating again. I've got to the point now that i forgot what it was like not being V.I.P. The forums are incredible i've never even seen a (random) forum that is so responsive, friendly and as accurate.
If you want to learn (newbie or pro) or help people no other site even comes close. I would deffinatly reccomend becoming a part of this team. It really does feel like a team unlike some sties where your even lucky to get a reply. I mean i was pretty much an experienced newbie when i joined VIP and even when i asked stupid question i never got any shiii for it . Everyon just wants to help so don't be worried about that.
So anyway i guess i'm just tryin to say that i would be lost without xbox-hq cuz no one else does it better. Thank you hq fellas.

I started my search for softmod information on HQ because a friend of mine said it was the best resource out there. I was a bit afraid to post on the forums at first because I didn't want to get flamed all the time so I searched on my own. Even doing that I found all the information that I needed and links to the files and tuts that I needed to do a softmod. After seeing how helpful this community was I decided to become a VIP. Since that time I have softmodded over 30 xbox's that were either mine, family, or friends. It's become a second nature and I wouldn't have that kind of confidence if it hadn't been for all the helpful people on HQ and the people that took the time to right up tutorials for us "stupid newbs". I'm hoping to contribute as much to this site as others have in the future.
