Hello again all.
I could use some experienced people's help with flashing my bios.
I've been reading some forms from this site and from the OzXodus website and I read references to downloading a certain "dummy file" that I should include when making a cd to flash my bios. It is supposed to help the xbox read the disk better. Is this better than just throwing some misc files on the disk? Currently whenever I used nero to create a cd using a tutorial I found on the OzXodus site, I would get an error saying "bios not properly sized". Is there as certain bank mode that I should be using? I would appreciate any trouble shooting techniques I can get. I am a newbie to this stuff.
The bios I am using is the Xromwell from gentoox. (mainly because I downloaded a cromwell bios but when I change it to "bios.bin" it winds up looking like this "bios.bin.gz". I cant get rid of the .gz extention, so I went with the xromwell bios because I could easily change the name to "bios.bin")
I am using a CDRW from TDK for my cd.
Thanks
