I have my xbox directly connected to my laptop via a crossover cable. I open up flashfxp, type in 192.168.0.2, xbox, and xbox for the surver, name, and password. The settings on the xbox are: IP=192.168.0.2, Subnetmask=255.255.255.0, and default gatewat=192.168.0.1
I am using evox.
When I hit connect on flashfxp it can't connect! What am I doing wrong? Please help

Firewall is off. It is still says "Connection failed (no route to host)"
If it makes a difference, the orange information light is blinking when connected to the xbox.

Is the IP address being used on the same range as the IP address assinged to your laptop??

By range, I mean..if your laptop IP address is 192.168.1.100 then you would be using 192.168.1.101 for the xbox.

Here are some tutorials to better help you:

http://xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-68.html

http://xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-102.html

http://xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-11.html

http://www.chefelf.com/xbox/networking.php

Hopetully that will give you a bettter understanding. Your laptop and xbox must be on the same network to communicate. Basically, that is what you are doing. Creating a network.

Here's what I did: I went to run->cmd->ipconfig /all and it says that my ip address is 192.168.2.105 So on my xbox I changed that to the default gateway and changed the xbox ip to 192.168.2.106 This still did not work. DANG!
