Yup you sure can backup your xbox games to cdr or cdrw but depending on what dvdrom your xbox has..
CDR
Your xbox must be able to read a cdr and only a few versions of the xbox can do this.. Mine does not reed cdr at all.. I think its from V1.3 XBOXES up. It is the SAMSUNG DVD-ROM drive that reads CDR..!
CDRW..
You need to find a media that your xbox likes.. Try many different cheap brands to find the best and burn the CDRW backup at low speed.
If you are making a backup of your own games using ftp from the xbox to your pc you must normally downsize the game (on your pc) by removing languages and movies not required to play the games and then build a XISO and burn it..
Some games however in original format are under 700mb and can be easily burnt to a CDRW without removing anything..
What i would suggest is this.. Groups called RIOT, CONFUSION and various others deal in whats called 'cdrips' (for those who dont have dvd burners)...
Try and get a hold of a couple of cdrips from those groups.. You will find them in the usual places BUT NOT on xbox-hq.
