Hello,
I am new to Xbox. I recently bought a Xbox v.1.6 and when I opened it I saw a modchip Duo X2 AMD. My problem is as follow: when I turn it on pressing the power button sometimes it boots to a blue screen (Linux Cromwell) and sometimes it boots to to xbox dashboard with a Evo M8 on the top left corner. How to control this boot process? How to know when to boot to each of the screens?
There is a switch on the modchip and when I turn it to the other bank it boot to FlashBios 3.0.3.
My real problem is that I dont want to boot the blue Cromwell screen. Can somebody help me?
Regards

Booting modded or unmodded depends upon how long you hold the power button upon startup.
A short tap will boot the console from the BIOS stored in the motherboards TSOP flash memory chip.
A longer than one-second press will boot the console from the selected BIOS bank (based on the bank selection switch position on the modchip itself).
If a short tap of the power button boots into Cromwell, the mod installer did a TSOP reflash. They replaced the stock Xbox BIOS with a modified one - Cromwell/FlashBIOS. And, never figured out how to install the stock BIOS again. Thus, they installed a modchip so they could do Xbox operations - BOOT using the EVOX BIOS to play games and run other homebrew apps. Cromwell does not allow you to do so.
So, note the length of time you press the power button and which BIOS boots. When does it go into Cromwell and when does it boot the Evox BIOS?
