At what point in and as part of what process does that error message appear.
It looks like something from a SID softmod install but usually, in fact always, it checks there is a legitimate backup of the MS dash in E:Backup\MS before proceeding.
There can be a problem though if before the softmod you did not update an older dash to 5960 and had a generic/stockfile MS dash in that folder rather than the actual MS dash file from your specific Xbox. That would take a double coincidence because the E:\Backup\MS dash files are always taken from the original retail state C:\ drive.
They would have had to have been replaced later with an incompatible version.
I've had this myself where I assumed the dash was updated before the softmod but wasn't.
But we need to know exactly what the OP was trying to do which caused this error because it is not clear whether he was mid-softmod or attempting to remove it or do something else.

Is the softmod installed and working or was this the first part of the actual SID softmod process and it won't create the E:\Backup|MS folder?
This is direct from the SID PDF manual:-
All menus will be self explanatory, and will go to the point, but make sure of the following tips to complete a successful softmod.
1. - Must have a retail MS Backup, either made by this installer or a previous SID installer that supports the target E:\backup\MS\, this backup must not be modded, and must have retail files, no dash version is specified if not installing Ndure.
2.- If you plan to Install the Dual Boot with MS Dash, YOU MUST have MS Dash 5960 either in your MS Backup or your True C drive (newest 1.6 Xboxes have this).
I'm sure I've seen that or a similar error message shown in the OP before during a softmod but I can't remember what the conditions were exactly.
Can you also provide screen shots of your E:\Backup folder and its MS folder contents, if present. Also your C:\drive.

There is a possible problem with that ie. using AID.
If it was softmodded without updating the dash to 5960 first the genric MS stockfiles AID or SID install, if the OP used the main menu Backup/Restore option, the MS dash in E:\Backup\MS may not work.
That is one reason why that update to 5960 before softmodding with SID is important as it appears to use the retail state C:\drive files for the initial MS backup.
Post softmod the retail dashboard XBE name "xboxdash.xbe" is also renamed and the same name reused for the Live online updater.xbe.
In short you need to know what you're doing before backing up the MS dash post softmod. Always check that it actually works once in E:\Backup\MS.
My suspicion is that either there is, as the error message suggests, no "MS" backup in E:\Backup, or the folder has been renamed for some reason or there is a post-softmod MS dash installation in it which, luckily, is being recognised as that.
This can be confirmed by getting more details about what was being done and the screen shots requested. But please do not do anything else until we have that information.
