Hey guys,
After all the help I got getting my box actually modded, I'm hesitant to pester anymore but uh...well everything but these 3 things are working great on it.
I've done all the classic emulators with xtras without issue but whenever I launch any version of final burn(legends or alpha) standalone or fully updated, coinops 5 full, or try and launch any xbox games that have been FTP'd or put on the box through DVD2Xbox, I get my splash screen and it goes back to dashboard.
Can't find much on this out there so reaching out to the pro's.
I've seen SPPV comment on another thread of similar circumstance that this could be corrupt dash files, how might I repair those without messing up my dash?

Which dash do you have installed? That'd be a good place to start.

The version of XBMC included in SPPV's auto installer 5.1.
I have tried rifling through XBMC menus but not finding anything that denotes what version it is. I'm sure i'm just blind.
Edit, what do you know, found out how to get into system info finally (up....)

Its a dash issue. Use Babylon to fix it. Burn the ISO to disc and boot it. Go to Dashboards and pick XBMC Dash Cleanup. When its done click on either UnleashX-Softmod or XBMC-Softmod
You can find Babylon in the Downloads-Explots section

Thanks a billion SPPV, downloading it now.
I can't help but imagine a time when patron saints such as yourself hadn't put together handy automated installers and discs like this.

No worries man. Amiga gave me the link for where you were asking over at TiZ about this and mentioned the fix and explained the fix. A little free school for Amiga lol. Its funny cause I said to him "if he wants it fixed he should just come back here" lol. We may not have a bunch of games for download and such, but we do KNOW xbox lol. Grab your goodies where you find them, but for support I highly suggest you bookmark us. Im around usualy 4 or 5 hours every day and glad to help. If you use our mods etc may as well come to the source when you hit a wall.
And Im glad to make the installers and apps. They save you and me so much time. Why spend a buch of time explaining how to manualy do something and then send you off to spend a bunch of time to fid the files. May as well just make things like Babylon, AID and Emu Installer. Win-Win for all of us

Oh yeah, I figured this would be the best place for help.
I hadn't gotten paid to go VIP here yet but now that I am, between the two I got everything taken care of; your HQ has a billion times more information though so I was like..."why the hell am I not posting there?"
Probably cause I ran a huge "look at me I'm N00b" thread lmfao.
Anyway, one last thing now that I've got babylon downloaded.
I burned the ISO as it was without extracting it through the tool to see if the xbox would boot it and launch repair from there.
From what I gather reading the thread about it and the readme packaged with it. The only way I'm gonna clean up my dash is through hooking my hdd back up to an IDE pc and booting the disc, similar to how I originally soft-modded through AID?
I'm without access to the computer I did all this on originally and I'm SOL with a mobo without IDE ports and the controller I bought is too old to be recognized(go figure); so this fix may have to wait a week till I can get to that PC; which would suck.

lil update edit for ya.
I tried popping in halo 2 to see if that would do anything for my dash.
It wouldn't load, turns out none of my discs, original or backup would boot.
so i had better search criteria of which to hunt. found a thread about it on xbox where a guy describes the same issue. he ftp'd out the Tdata and Udata folders and then deleted them. I tried it and what do you know...FBL/Coinops/Backups boot.
I haven't copied back Tdata or Udata yet but nothing seems to have changed.
I can't tell what they're for. My backgrounds, icons, screensavers, everything is still there.
Is this a possible fix or just a mask over the real issue?

NOOOOOOOOO! As shipped is XBOX compliant. Ignore the read mes those are for the PC Compiler for making XBOXHDM discs and USB game save mods. Just do like I said above burn th ISO, go to Dashboards, hit XBMC clranup then pick you dash (since you softmod make sure the dash you pick says sftmod)
My dream of an all way all platform installer is ass raping me with broken bottle lol

hmm so it should boot into that interface then?
Won't read the disc if booted with it in just goes to dash, won't load if put in while at dash screen, I did burn at 8x. Gonna try another disc then and see, perhaps something went awry. Will report back

Well, Zroe, you just said that your box isn't booting any games, retail or burned, right? I believe the Xbox reads the installer discs as "games."

@ Zroe.
the "TDATA" and "UDATA" are where the gamesaves and various cfg files can exist, usually used for retail gamesaves and the stock dash recording/coverting (installing) of audio cd's (128kbps wma) to the hdd!
mods and homebrew can also use them which brings me to my next point...
because you've modded the console, it'll contain the "user exploits" and cfg's as well for the mod!
as you've stated, "nothing's changed" i have myself have deleted them but as soon as the partition was clean again, i copied both the directories back to the root of E:/ before i ran anything at all!
the smart move would be to restore them ASAP as it may interfere with the mod if in the unlikely event it was to fuckup, they get recalled on when needed by the (internal) mod recovery....
restore them!
....
[edit]...
the console creates those two directories as shipped/powered back on/reset but if you deleted/moved them off E: then they won't have the vital files needed for an internal recovery, just that session of saves/cfg from when they was last generated! (contents from you move won't be there so replace them with your backups)
...
for future reference and safety first, NEVER touch those two directories again and listen to the pro! (SPPV) _________________ to all my friends... farewell and all the best to future prosperity... and remember, be excellent to each other!

I coped T and U back in on my first reboot since loading the emu's after trying that trick.
Everything loads now but final burn and snes9 and appear as distorted screen with colorful static everywhere. The emulators still run, music plays, vids run, and I can select things so it's running but I can't read the configuration options to try and mess with the screen resolution, if thats it.
The iso of Babylon won't load no matter what I do, used two kinds of verbatim DVDs, burned at 8x over 3 different discs.
this is what the screen looks like while its running in the background.
