X3:
I had the X3 BIOS flashed to my X3 chip. I wondered what the password setting did. I changed it to "xbox". Also unlocked HDD and backed up EEprom.
Now, when the startup animation has finished, the Xbox never boots to any media (X3CL, dash, DVD, trigger for backup dash).
I can only get to the dash by using the X2.
Audio:
While trying to figure out why the X3 wasn't worked, I had a look at the modchip to see if any wires were loose or anything. After switching to the SD cables to use FlashBIOS (for some reason it doesn't support HD), I then plugged HD cables back in and there was a constant buzz and on the screen everything was green-tinted.
This problem is solved by going back to SD.
I tried grounding the cables but it made no difference. _________________

Im not a chip expert but if that chip has a switch to shut it off Id build an HDD using Pimped or AutoBuilder and pop it in and see if you get the same issue running softmod. If you do then you know its some kind of hardware failure, but if it runs fine then you know the chip is dying or needs to be reflashed/resoldered

The X3 has pretty much every feature you can think of.
I have tried reflashing many times. It seems that stupid password has jammed the X3 BIOS and the AV problems are unconnected.
I'll do some searching around to see if you can clear the settings. _________________

No advance on getting the X3 to reset but I did find the problam with AV.
It wasn't the Xbox, but the cable. Looks like something broke in the part that plugs into the Xbox. If I run a cable from ground to the ground on audio, it fixes the problems. I've already bought a new HD cable though so if anybody wants it I can send it to you (dunno why you would want it, just an offer). _________________

FINALLY got this bugger fixed.
The password screws the BIOS big time, never use it.
I did some research and found word of an app called x3_erase. Then I found a site with dead links to Mediafire for the app. I contacted the site owner and they found it and posted it here: download _________________

Glad to hear you got it fixed
For future reference, you could have reflashed the bios with a stock one pretty easily. All you would have had to do was unplug the mod chip from the LPC header and softmod the Xbox with Evox. Once Evox is installed, FTP over the bios file you want to flash the chip with. Boot the Xbox and then plug the X3 back into the LPC header. Go to the built in flasher that Evox has and flash the chip.
I had to do this way back in the day when I screwed up my first flash on my hyperX chip. It works because the Xbox will use the stock MS bios to boot into the softmod, bypassing the chip. Then you can plug the chip back in and flash it. _________________

You cannot flash modchip, if console starts from TSOP.
Only way to flash modchip with broken bios, is booting console with another modchip (or different bios bank), and replacing it after launching flashing software.

I tried this like 101 times. I never had to ever do any softmodding because of the X3. I just boot to the backup FlashBIOS and flash the X2 BIOS on, then I can boot to XBMC again. However, the X2 didn't have Live Config and couldn't install a new HDD proper easy. The X3 info was stored on the chip, and no matter however many reflashes to different banks, the data didn't go. The erase app is the only way to delete it all. _________________

That is a really poor design. I wonder why Xecuter never released a never bios that fixed that issue? _________________
