I just got the chip installed and I am trying to flash the bios via cd and it says
"unknown bios - Halting". I read that means that you havent booted the system in flash mode. I cant figure out how to boot the xbox in flash mode.
No matter how long I hold the power button down it always boots the same and doesnt allow me to flash the bios. When I press it quickly it boots up without the chip like its supposed to but when it doesnt seem to change not matter if I hold it down 1 second thru 10 seconds. It always diplays red - orange - then flashing green for about 3 seconds then solid green.
Please help this is very frustrating.

By the way I have A Halo Edition Xbox with a 1.5 motherboard. Weird
I have the super aladdin live mod chip.

what bios are you trying to flash it with?
try flashing with xecuter2 4983.06 or .67 or evox m8
use the 1mb versions ,

I was trying to flash with the 256k version of m8 I believe.
I will try the xecuter 2 1mb version and see if that works.

I tried the Xecuter 1 meg versions and the same result.
Any other ideas?

i flashed mine with the programmer ,
i used the ind bios , after the verification was over i got the same error you are getting , but then i added the hash for it in the bios database and reflashed it and it works fine ,
my live chip doesnt have the flash boot menu either , and i cant even
turn my xbox on with the chip disabled (chip is always on) , no matter if i hit the button quickly or hold it for 2sec or 200 sec
but what can you expect from a chip thats dirt chip ? not a whole lot

I am not a big fan of the Aladdin's period. Forahobby sent a couple my way so I can give them a try and give some Aladdin support, but I haven't had a chance to install yet. I have the programmer, two Aladdin Live's and two little mini's.
