Im just trying to turn an old Dell PC into an XBOX and was just wondering if anybody here has done it. I was thinking of mounting 2 xboxs in it (hang the mobo on either side) and mount the DVD and HDDs in the intended bays, and either cut a hole for the C ports or modify the USB ports to fit them.

So if like I said any of you have done this and have any pointers to help me avoid needless mistakes Id appreciate it

Cool thats pretty much what I intended to do only Im using Plexiglass plates to mount the mobos and I dont know if I can but Im gonna try to split one DVD drive between two XBOXs. Power wont be an issue like it was in this tut since I can just mount it to the plexi and I have a generic 6 foot cord that will work for power. And a nice bright red fan top mounted for added heat removal. Im gonna try to get one of my friends to video tape e doing the build and I'll put it up Funny thing is this will actualy be an upgrade the tower Im using is an old 333mhz Intel, which is absolutely useless to me since I cant use it for drive builds. Just wish I still had my old Netvista case it had a swinging door on the front, I think it woud of looked awsome open the door and theirs an xbox

Have you seen these before ? :
http://shop.sickmods.net/product/ATX_to_Xbox_Converter_2/

I dont know how feasible it would be using a ATX PSU powering two MoBos but if youre willing to give it a try im willing to donate a mk1 sickmods converter to the cause Wink

Ive never seen one of those before. I was planning on using a seperate PSU for each but get an IDE and power splitter (if I can) so I can have the DVD hooked up to both and mount the power buttons on the front

there once was a tut on hooking up and xbox and ps2 in the same system. Looked a little over engineered to me. But it was in one case, which was cool.
That ATX to xbox adapter got some pretty bad reviews at the time of release, not sure if there was a v2 that came out. Traces weren't 'thick enough for current flow and other stuff.
Oh ya, support that power supply better, the heat will warp it and you'll get shorts/bad solder connections.
IF I was going to do this, For easy mounting, cut the sides off the original case and keep the base, then fasten that to whatever you want Smile

Do you think the XBOXes could share a HDD, DVD and power buttons? It might be a bit hard with all the wires and possibly some logic chips though. You would have to prevent providing the HDD with 34 volts because you might find a way to have both XBOXes on at the same time.

Also, if you created a virtual network between the XBOXes, you could have 8 players on a live enabled game :o
