A couple of days ago I was thinking about the possibility of starting up a site for Android, mainly because of how big the Android community is and that development is supported (and encouraged).

We are currently looking for members (preferably existing Mods / Admins) who would be interested in helping staff / maintain the site.

Firstly I must state that we are not going to be hosting a big lot of apps, we will simply link to the Android Market where the latest version is always obtainable. However for non-market Apps, Custom Themes, Kernels, ROMs etc it may be considered.

The site hasn't been built as of yet, but here is a rough idea on what will be included. If there are any other ideas please suggest.

News:
News about the Android OS, Apps, Games, Kernels/ROMS etc.
Maybe grab RSS Feeds from other sites, and/or get members to contribute.

Turotials:
General tutorials on hacking, installing custom ROMs etc.

Forums:
- Android-Hq.com General Discussions
- Android-Hq.com General Discussions (VIP Only)
- Android Phone Discussions
- Android Phone Gallery (Home-screen Screenshots, Startup Animations etc).
- Android Gaming Discussions
- Android Application Discussions
- Android Phone Rooting Discussions
- Android Kernel & ROM Discussions
- Android Tweaking Discussions
- Android Development Discussions
- Android-Hq.com Website Feedback & Suggestions
- Android-Hq.com Moderators / Admin Only

Downloads:
- Apps
- Games
- Emulators
- Kernels
- Custom ROMs
- Phone Manuals
- Custom Themes / Startup Animations

Most download links can go straight to the Android Market (Optional upload for Mods/Admins).
Custom Kernels / ROMs etc could be hosted.

Reviews:
- Phone Reviews
- Android Game Reviews
- Android Application Reviews
- Android Kernel / ROM Reviews

Your feedback is more than welcome.

If anyone reading this wants to be staff, please tell us how long how have had Android phones / knowlegde for and what phones you have done stuff to, just so we can get an idea on what phone brands can be covered.

Thank you...

That's great idea.

But let me make a counter-sugestion what about a Mobile-HQ

That way we could put not only Android but also iOS, Windows Mobile and Symbian.

The Android community is getting bigger and bigger so we can focus more on that but if we make a Mobile community other people that have different OS in their phones can start interacting with it make the site much more active.

I'd support mobile-hq instead of just android. Means a little bit more work but hopefully it can grow a bigger community then just android alone.

I agree to mobile-hq, because as already said ios, android, windows phone it would be very popular. Also mobile hq could be a great place for psvita as it'll have an os is going be massively popular and 3g and chances are high for a hack the community says. I use my iphone a lot and would have more to contribute on that side of things then xbox these days.

I use a Windows phone and I have an Ipod Touch so there's 2 OS I can help with.

Plus I know a person who is expert in Android and Ios too (former VIP member here)

Are we not forgetting about BlackBerry OS? I'm all about that stuff! Even though BlackBerry OS is based on Java (SHITTY), BlackBerry is FINALLY starting to upgrade their hardware to a nice new CPU of 1.2GHz and a GPU (not aware of the model) and lots and lots of RAM. Smile

I'd definently agree with this idea, I myself having the EVO 4G rooted, I've wanted to customize it more and give back to the community in return. Cool
