Hi all,
Some years ago I modded my box with SID (don't know the version anymore) but now I want to install the final version, SID 5.11. I borrowed the game a couple of years ago to use the savegame trick, as well as the USB stick for the savegame. I don't have any of the savegame-trick games myself and I don't have the USB stick (or action replay). Now I want to install SID 5.11, how to do this? In AID there's version 5.10 instead of version 5.11, and I really want to install 5.11 so I can't use AID. SO my question is, how can I ugrade from SID X (dunno) to SID 5.11, without having the right savegame-trick games or USB stick/action replay? I couldn't find an answer in the forum without using the savegame trick... Thanks all in advance!

Since you can already boot the AID disk you could just run the SID511 softmod from the disk, are you running a virtual C drive?

Thank you for your answer!
Yes I'm running a virtual C drive (I have a multiboot option). But in the last release of AID (4.52), the SID 5.10 is included, and I want to install the 5.11 version, because this one is final. Running the AID 4.52 will install SID 5.10, that's my whole point.

Hi janxbox,
I'm pretty sure you could apply an update patch to AIDELUXE and it will upgrade SID to 5.11 Final.. I will msg DJB to make sure and hopefully he has time to reply.. DJB makes AID and does a kick ass job of staying on top of things. _________________ HQ Network:

Personally I would leave it as is.
Since its a Virtual C installation and you don't have the game or Memory Card/USB stick it would make it tricky to do, as the Virtual C has to be unmounted first, and the only safe way to do that is to remove the softmod and install it clean.
There's no big difference between the final and other multiboot versions I've put out, the biggest difference was that I included the latest version of XBMC with it, which can easily be upgraded using either AID or XBMCID (XBMC Installer Deluxe).
The actual sofmod itself hasnt changed much so I'd suggest not to tamper with it if it's already working. Like the old saying goes, if it aint broken, don't fix it, you might end up with more problems than what its worth.
