OK, I need some input. There are alot of Softmods files and different ways to install it. I have all three games SC, MA, & 007 to start the softmod. What is the best way to Softmod, which dashboard might be best to use/install. (I was thinking of Unleashed, but I would also like XBMC.) Now keep in mind, down the road I would like to install a new HDD with the softmod. Now according to the Ndure install instructions, you CAN NOT add a bigger HDD after using Ndure to softmod you xbox. (so that is out) I need some experience from individuals that have done all the above and direction for a newbie like me.
Sorry, I need your help on something like this, but I have been researching it and there are a lot of tutorials and webpages etc that get you confused after reading.
Thank you for your help..

Thanks for the tut WES213
I believe I have the files SID5.Installer and SID5.loader.mechassault Now I am assuming those are the files in your tut. I finally got my AR card working so I have no probelm getting those files on the Mem card. I just want to double check that these are the files I need. And also, I haven't gotten all the way through your tut, but with this Softmod can I run 2 dashboards? From what I read online the answer is yes and no.

Well Wes213 you opened a can. As I go through the tut, I am curious about Evox, Unleash, and XBMC. Now at 5.30 minutes into your tut you mentioned updatein gthe DJB's Softmod installer. If I start with V5.01 that will include the reference you made to 4.20 for multi dashes. You also said you don't like either EVOX or Unleashed. If you don't mind me asking what do you use?
Thanks again for your help. I like the tut.. I have to say I am late to the xbox modding business, but this site is awesome.

Good to see you like the site bro and yes the files listed are the ones you need.
You can run 2 dash but you can only boot one then use it to launch the other, i have been a die hard fan of XBMC as a dash and as a media center for my PC since it can do more then evox and unleash combined.
PS: 5.01 is 420 just more skins and addon apps.

Since your TUT said that you recommend Evox of the two which is what I will do, but then after the Mod I can add in XBMC? I am itching a ready to go once I get the word back from you. I just don't want to start something I might not be able to reverse.
Thanks Again for your help and experience.

Evox is the best starting point and then you can add ZBMC as an app to launch from the evox dash, should you want to you can update with AID to make the xbox launch right in to XBMC later on.

Well thought I would let you know that it worked with out an issue. And now I am off to add Emulators and XBMC. Is there a forum to go to that gives the steps so I can add the XBMC after the mod is done. I am going to look but sometimes I can't find things in posts.
P.S. After I put this mod in, can I change over from Evox to Unleashed so I can see the difference before I add anything else?
Don't tell anyone, but right now WES213.. Your my Hero......

OK, I got FTP running and I was wondering exactly where is the EEprom located at, so I back it up? Was it E:\backup\ms ? Now when I know this, should I back up everything or is it a single file. I am assuming it is going to be everything.
Thank You

The eeprom is aall you really need to back up, if you put in the aid disk the is an option to back up the eeprom and move it to any ware on the hdd.

Sorry WES213, I reread my post and I wasn't very clear. I did as your TUT said, I backed up the EEPROM but in your TUT you mentioned on Backing the EEPROM again to my PC. So that is why I was wondering where the EEPROM is on the XBOX so I can copy to my PC now that I got the FTP up and running. Your last post I didn't understand what you meant and trying to help me with.
P.S. I do have the AID v4.52 files I haven't made it a disc yet. Is that what you were referring too?

Yeah bro, burn aid to a disk and run the softmod option to copy the eeprom to the root of E to make it easy to find when you FTP.

Good Evening Wes213
I got evo installed and it was done exactly per your TUT. Now I made a XBMC.Installer.deluxe.140 disc. So my questions... What is the easiest way to dive into this with out messing up my XBOX. Do I just install the dashboard for XBMC per manual, as a normal dashboard on E:\ ? Do I do Softmod one click install option. I am a little bit confused. So I am just asking for more clarification.. TY
Please let me know when you have time. I am poised and ready to go, I got my eeprom backed up on E:\ and I also copied it to my PC.

If you just want to try out XBMC you can install it as an APP by FTPing the XBMC folder to the APP folder, the XBMC icon should show up in the APP list after a reboot.
