Did you try static settings and hooking the xbox right to the PC?

Would that be the 192.168.0.2 setting? I only get that when I boot from the disc, but after reading through the posts, I guess I'm not supposed to do it like that.
I'll attempt to connect it directly to the lappy, and see how that works out...
Really wanna get this 40gig in there, lol

When I go Xbox to PC via ethernet, it doesn't even show as I have a cable plugged in on lappy.
What type of ethernet cable are you using? Straight or crossover? Remember, it must be crossover for direct connections. If you're using a straight it will not recognise you have it plugged in.

If you have a router, and the router's DHCP server support manual DHCP assignment, you can use the XBOX's mac address to give your XBOX any address in your network range you want. Albeit your AID iso should contain the DHCP update. Well if not, and your connected with a cross cable, set your PC's IP to 192.168.0.xxx.
