I want to light up my jewel with 8 leds i have read the tuts and i know how to do it but how do I wire the leds?? could some one tell me please and the resistor i should use?? and I want to put a toggle switch at the back so that i can turn them off
this is what i have 8 RED leds, 20 ma, 2.2 forward voltage
is it right that i can use bet a 19 ~ 22 ohm resistor ???

15 Ohm but its all up to the led you use.

1.8 v
5 v power supply
Is 20 ohm is good enough for this setup???

Sir I did everything as you said but when I tried to power up nothing happened to the leds did not light ???

Well that i don't know, it would help if i had a pic or some way to see how it went wrong.
Did you put all the long legs on the positive side and all the short legs on the negative side?

I think my prob is with the resistor value

I wired all the positive together and all negative together then negative i put on the negative in molex plug and positive in the 12v molex plug they lit up but very dim I could hardly see them I had to cover my hand over them to see the light

You list a 5v power in your one post so thats what i went by but then hooked to your 12v in the last post, move the power to the 5v wire and see if that helps.

Sorry I mistook I thought i used a 5v but infact i used a 12v thats what the prob was
so what resitor should i use for

Just move the power wire to the 5 volt wire and keep the one you got or if you got to use the 12v i think 60 is about what you need but might want to check a led resister calculate.

I ran mine off the 5 but it will put out the same amount of light as long as you use the suggested resister.
