Someone posted on this?
Thanks man but i have looked at that guide till my head hurts, and what realy gets me is that it was made to work with the X3 chip but thay wont show an overhead shot of the ir hooked to an X3.
Seems that just might be the onley guide out for the ir.

Is the XIR the little thing you can plug into the X3 chip that controls the xbox by remote? Like turning it off and on with the remote? _________________

I'm not sure but you might check your solder points.

Maybe the X3 chip is the problem? The port it plugs into may be loose/unusable as well. On my friends X3 chip he couldn't use the LCD screen because the port on the X3 was not soldered correctly. If not that i really dont know anything about these IR devices so im not much help.+
I could hit up burner on xbox live for you to see if he knows about it. _________________

Its an x3ir with an x3ce chip there are no solder points but the pin header and that works fine.
The lcd works fine darth, the prob is the ir chip flashes fine and i can push buttons and see the code it makes so the ir eye is fine.
The prob is when i close the xbox or leve it open and try to power up with the remote nothing happens.
