Hi guys,
I'm modding my Xbox and I decided to do some light mods, i'm doing the jewel, controller ports and the Power/Eject ring. I know how to do the jewel and controller ports but with the Power/Eject ring modding, do I have to get a special type of LED's to make it work or can I just use any?
Thanks

You wold want to match the leds that are in it as much as you can you know dont slap in a 3mm in a 5mm leds place and the other way around.
But other then that it should be ok.

I used 3mm and they worked just fine. The smaller the better in this case so you dont have to make a Once you get it apart, you will see what I mean.
Wes, have you seen anything done with the 3-prong, Tri-color LEDs, that are removed when doing this mod?I have 4 of them just laying aroud now. They would be nice to put somewhere else.

As long as it dont call for a 700 volt power you should be fine.

One more question, what is a decent brightness (MCD) to use for the job?

When you pull of the xbox face plate there is a plastic ring that gose around the eject button that makes the 2 leds look like a ring of light, thats the frosted ring.
