I am wondering how many people actually use this replacement as a substitute for the original stock DVD drive (phillips, thompson, ect.). I use a 8164 and I am completely satisfied with is performance. If your drive ever goes bad, this is a good option.
PS i know this has been around for about a year and a half, but i'm just curious as to how many actually use one. _________________ If it's broken, repair it,

For me, never had any probs with the original Philips drive I have in mine.
