All I do after I pull the jewel is put it in the freezer for several hours so I can get the black glue off. Then, I get some acetone on a cotton makeup pad and gently wipe it. Right after I wipe it I rinse in water and dry with a cotton towel, then repeat the process. It takes about five to ten minutes and eventually the green just starts to come off in globs.
The reason I keep rinsing is because acetone can eventually mess up the acrylic jewel. It leaves white stains if you leave the acetone on too long. The water takes care of the acetone straight away.
They come super crystal clear. I posted a pic here somewhere, will have to find and attach.

well first you take off the top of your xbox and use a hair dryer to heat up the glue and then you put it in the freezer as relmcoloy said and then i use goof off and cotton swabs, once you are done with that you can polish it and then tape it all around and sprey it with the paint color of your choice.
