Hi, I am trying to set up xbox live and everything sets up but it says the DNS server ips don't resolve, I looked in my router settings and used the DNS ips there but they still dont work. HELP!

My guess you would need to use the router as your dns, or just leave it blank and let it autodetect (i don't use xbox live, so i'm not sure if this is an option, should be however). _________________

open the command prompt on your computer ,
type ipconfig -all ..hit enter
it will tell you what your default gateway is , and what dns' u have available to you

Ok i tried that but it just gave me the same dns ips i was using in the first place. But earlier when it was suggested to set to automatic, then the regular ip address wont resolve. when i do use the dns ips it says they dont match with the ISP or the DHCP.

why dont you tell us what your ip,dns,default gateway are ,
and how all your xbox network settings look like

ok, im running a router so here is the stuff:
ip address...................192.168.1.101
subnet mask................255.255.255.128
default gateway............192.168.1.1
Dns servers..................192.168.1.10 (it only gives me one when i type ipconfig -all in my command prompt.)

i set my router back to factory settings and now the xbl works.
