Hey 420xbox420,
More then likely you will find that the modchips are just the same.
They will have some new little features but im sure they will still except all the same bioses.. Well hopefully..
If you get any more info about them dont forget to post some links..
I dont have time lately to go googling but if i hear more ill let you know mate..

I have modded 3 boxes & have had no probs until I did the fourth.
I had to use an xecuter 2.6, my favorite 2.3b pros were discontinued.
If you are modding, do not (my opinion!) use an xecuter 2.6 chip,at least not on a version 1.6 box.
By the way the foruth xbox is trashed.(Tempers flared & parts got broken) _________________ Xecuter2.3bPro(Best Chip)

Before you buy any chip ask yourself a fe things. Don't worry about whether you will be able to run unassigned code, or save games to HD...all chips will let you do that.
Ask yourself how do I want to flash it, what features do I want the chip to have, do I want it to have an OS, do I want to use a programmer to flash, do I want to be able to flash via HTTP, or via FTP, from the DVD rom drive...stuff like that. Also, keep in mind that some chips do have more support available.
I tend to lean toward Xenium products because of their ease to flash and their support. The X3 will be a great chip once they get the initial load of bugs dealt with. Also, the SmartXX chip is pretty sweet too!
If you have to buy a programmer for a chip, then spending an extra $10.00 or so on a fourth gen chip that has an OS and can be flashed without a programmer gets a little more attractive. I personally haven't heard too many horror stories on the 2.6, to date only one post on this forum whom didn't like the chip.
Most Xecuter customers are rather satisfied.
Good luck in your choice, I am sure you will be fine regardless of what chip you choose.

when i got into modding for the first time i didnt even know about softmods
and tsop flashing , so i went straight for a chip ,
i did my research , and i came to conlcusion that xenium would be the best choice for me , so i got one ,
and all that reaserch paid off , it is a very nice chip , i had verry few problems with it , mostly with flashing bios for the first time couse i didnt know i had to program the bios after flashing it on the chip ,
once i got that figured out the only other thing that bothers me is that selderless adapter disconnects every once in a while ,
besides that its all good , id pick xenium over any other chip anytime

No matter what chip you go with when it comes to solderless you have to worry about aligning the chip. That's why I choose to solder.
Not sure what you mean about programming the bios after you flash your chip....
I just flash the chip with the bios of choice and then format the HD.... I don't mess with the bios at all.
Or do you mean assigning the color LED and naming it?? Curious..

i had version 1.1 OS on my xenium ,
and after flashing the chip from cd you had to go back one menu and select
option PRAGRAM FLASH , if that wasnt done the bios you selcted from cd would actually flash on the chip

Oh..I dig it. I didn't start installing Xeniums until the Ice's came out...
I had a Xenium blue with the 1.1 but it was already flashed and configured for me...
Glad they made that change!
Just so you're not confused '420', if you were to go with a Xenium Ice now, once you flash the chip you are good to go bud!
later man
