I just purchased a Samsung 616T drive that has the Xbox connector installed so I can use the regular yellow cable for power. I hooked it up and am having issues with it playing most anything retail and burned, some stuff works others don't and it won't even read audio CDs. Do I need to flash it with the 605b firmware still and do I need to do any further modification to the drive. _________________ Xbox Version 1.0:

From what I've read (3-4 tutorials), the 616 and the 605 have different firmware and all the tutorials I've read have mentioned flashing it, so I believe the answer would be "yes, you need to change the firmware!" _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room

I bought the Samsung 616t after having my machine modded, supposedly it was supposed to read any DVD disc made...come to find out it only recognizes DVD-R
