i notice that some folks that have the crystal cases...that you can see the dvd spinning. is this a clear replacement top for the dvd drive? or do you just take the top of the drive off and leave it open?

if thats the case...then isnt that bad for the laser and dust?

thanks

you have to cut the top of the dvd drive, because on the top of the case is the dvd stablizer, so you have to leave that so you kind of leave a strip across the top, leaving that stabilizer... also about dust, as long as you keep your case closed, there wont be anymore dust then before, but it probably would need a little q-tip and alcohol, everyonce in a while..

Alot of clear case come with a new top that works if you have a Thompson drive. There is no cutting involved just unscrew the top then screw the new one on.
