I have a v1.6 XBox and I recently installed the Xecuter 2.6CE mod chip (soldered in). Following the installation I followed the many tutorials I was using at the time and downloaded a BIOS. I then flashed the chip with the EvolutionX M8 Bios_v1.6 on Bank 1 and FlashBios v3.0.1 on Bank 2 using Xecuter2 BIOS Manager v2.3. The flash was successful and the XBox turned off (like it is supposed to). When I boot the XBox up after that it takes me to a screen that says EvoX in the top left and the typical XBox symbol in the middle. This screen is followed by one that has a large green X on the left and four menu options on the right: Memory, Music, XBox Live, and Settings. This seems like it fits the description of having a dashboard, but I haven't installed one as of yet (to my knowledge). When I put a backup DVD in the drive at this screen it takes me to a screen that has the typical XBox logo on it and does not go further. Any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your speedy reply. I just tried to install a new dashboard, but when I boot up the XBox with the EvolutionX Build 3935 DVD in the drive it still loads the M$ dash. I also tried to boot Slayer's Autoinstaller and again it doesn't work. I read in a few threads that if everything (meaning dvd drive, power, and HDD) is disconnected for too long you will lose some data (specifically the clock). I know that every time the XBox boots and enters the M$ dash it asks for a clock set. I was wondering if this has anything to do with my problems?

I don't think the xecuter has the feature you are speaking of. There is an external switch and I could turn the ModChip Off? I actually have a copy of the AID Autoinstaller (I think version 3.10?). I take it that I just need to burn the iso provided, then power the XBox up with the DVD in it? Again, thanks for your time.

Ok, I followed the manual for autoinstaller delux precisely and used a 1Gb Dummy file because I am writing to a Verbatim DVD-R. I do a cold boot of the AID DVD and it looks like it is going to read it (the screen has the regular XBox logo and on the bottom it has AID 3.04). The screen hangs there for about 30 seconds then the system shuts off. Any ideas on what might be going on here?
