Hey all, if anyone was watching my cam in the last hour and could read lips...hehehe..
Anyway, just chipped a 1.4 with a Xenium Ice...all looks great, was a very clean install. No dark solder, using the D0 loom. Ground is great, D0 is tight and clean.
When I boot up xbox it just goes right to the MS Dash. No LED on chip, no frag, just like it's an unmodded box.
Any ideas? I am open to suggestions.

Well, after assuming it was a ground issue with my D0 loom I decided to redo the ground...still no joy.
I thought okay, just like forahobby mentioned in the VIP ticket that I finally found my first dud chip. I mean, I have installed tons of these things and this is the first with no fire.
If it was my solder job, it would have fragged. So, I pulled a chip out of another machine and tested in this..guess what... NO JUICE!
Now I am super perplexed..yes, I have a big SP on my chest...but before I regress any further, I actually got it to work.
Common knowledge was if you have a Focus chip you either have a 1.4 or 1.5 xbox. The only way you are supposed to know the difference between the two is to check for continuity between the number 2 LPC hole and any ground. If you have continuity, it's a 1.4. If you have continuity it's a 1.5. I had continuity, so I assumed it was a 1.4.
WRONG...it was a 1.5 and I had to rebuild the LPC on the top unlike the LPC rebuild of the 1.6 which is on the bottom of the mobo.
I have fire, I have joy...I have utter confusion how the freak I am supposed to tell the difference between a 1.4 or a 1.5 in the near future.
I took pics and as soon as I get my FTP prefs back in order (I restored my PC today) I will post so everyone knows where to put the dang wires.

Ya know something funny? Everytime u post a problem up here RM, u end up getting it figured out urself lol. This is like the 6th post Ive seen just like this. Your getting too good at this stuff.....well that is a good thing lol.

HA..didnt see that one first...yeah, I know. I keep trying to troubleshoot, but I also get some posts out there in the event I get stumped and one wiser than I has a quick fix.
I use as many resources as I can for the fastest fixes...I am soooooo impatient when it's not working right! HA.
