Greetings,
I am new to the forum. I have a 1.6V xbox from what i have seen this is gonna be a task to modify. I recently purchase the hyperx modchip due to cost and version compatabiltiy and have a few questions. My biggest question is does it come with Cromwell installed or do I have to flash it on to it. I havent been able to find much information about this chip other then it is a solderless mod chip.
Next I have never modded an xbox before and would like some helpful guides after I install this chip. This is what I am looking to do with it:
Backup and run my games from/to hd
Run linux and surf the web
Play DVD movies and other movie formats (AVI, DIVX, XVID, MPG)
The last two things is I was told you can plug in a keyboard and mouse to the xbox to make it easier to use. How is this accomplished and where can i get the parts needed to do this? And on one of the website i visited i seen that you can install mythtv on your xbox to do tv recording, what parts are needed to accomplish this.

Well You Selected A Completely Sodderless Chip So Yea It Shouldnt Be All That Hard Look In Tutorials Sections On Alot Of Xbox Modding Sites/Forums. If You Still Dont Understand How To Install The HyperX You Might Have To Wait A Little Bit For Mine To Come In And Ill Write An Indepth Tutorial On It.

You Can Do All Of These Things With A Softmod You Didnt Need To Buy A Chip To Do These Things. All You Need Is 007, Mechassault, Or Splinter Cell And A Memory Card >_< But Softmods Suck Cuz I Did It Twice And Broke 2 Of My Xbox's And I Finally Decided To Get The Chip.

There's A Piece Of Hardware That Will Allow You To Do This. You Can Also Make It But It Requires Soddering Skillz And Lotz Of Them

your in luck, ive had to help someone with thier hyperx chip, it has to be flashed, ill grab you the install guide and tutorial, and i can find other tutorials for you. _________________

haha already people using my tut woohoo, hey man, i have been dealing with this chip for a couple months now and have had lots of problems with it, hellblazer helped me flash it and get it all installed correctly.
