Set your CD-ROM as the boot drive, not the HDD. If that's set right, disable your HDD autodetect in your BIOS, XBHDM will pick it up anyway. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

I got xboxhdm 1.9, but when I run the win ISO maker-thing, it does not appear to be making an .ISO file. Where should the .ISO file be located?

The iso file will be located in XBHDM's root folder. For best results, like I said, do not run from windows. Open up a command window and run "make-iso-win.bat" from the command window. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."
Everyone,
I am having problems unlocking my HDD to conduct a hotswap. I have tried unplugging the DVDROM cable and the power cable. I have tried waiting until MS shows and swapping, still nothing works. The reason for the Hotswap is XBOX Live update loop. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

If its saying no disk found, you need to attach your drive to the primary IDE channel and set the jumper to master _________________
It worked! My xbox is back to live! Many thanks Greven!
I have 2 more questions:
1-Can I use this metode to install a new and bigger disk?
2-Using the autoinstaller that you have here in the forum, will I be able to play games backups?

1. Yup. This is how I do most of my upgrades.
2. Using the softmod from this site or others you can play backups. The auto installer is to save the hassles with FTP, configs, versions, etc. _________________
