Ok, before everyone gets carried away with all of the recent Xbox 360 news I wanted to let you know what we've found. There's been a lot of hype about Xbox 360 disc images and some new tools appearing to extract those images. Existing Xbox tools should already be able to extract them. Qwix 1.01 (the most recent public release version) can extract them if you just change the file extension to .iso instead. I'm not sure if other existing Xbox tools will work, but I suspect most/all of them will.

I'm trying to help avoid seeing a whole new batch of 360 iso tools, when they're really doing the same thing as all the old Xbox tools. The scene saw a lot of iso extraction/creation software surface, and some of them were quite buggy and caused people to waste a lot of time (and blank discs). There's nothing new/magical about the Xbox 360 images.

XDisc Automaters are a collection of 2 automation scripts that will give you quick access to extracting and creating XBox ISOs in Mac OS X 10.4. Once installed, they will show up in your "Automater" menu when you right click on a folder or iso file in the finder...quick and easy! They use the new Automater application inside Mac OS X 1.04, so 10.4 is required for them to work. They use extract-xiso 2.3 to create and extract the ISOs.

This tool is most complete tool until now.


You can Make/extract XISO's, FTP your folders/ISO's to Xbox (ISO's on the fly, without any temp files, not even in memory), You can patch and edit XBE-Titles, Explore an iso, scan a folder for XISO-images, MXM and Menux Multigame wizards... and more(or there will come more).


Why this tool while there are lots of tools?
This is a tool with the most options to use and I'm trying to make it an All-in-One tool.

- Generates XDVDFS search trees. (GDFIMAGE does not)
- Much faster than GDFIMAGE
- Combined with XDVDFS_Dumper can recreate a disk with all file system optimizations preserved
- Can pad images to 4.38GB
- Source code included

Yursoft released the sources of his xiso creation/extracting tool, because he will not continue development of the tool.
