' EA brings another sport to the streets '
Electronic Arts wants to take everyone back to the streets for some soccer this time. Today, EA has announced that FIFA Street is in development by EA Canada and will be hitting stores next year. EA Canada is the same studio who works on the FIFA Soccer franchise. Games will get a first look at the game with a trailer that will be included on FIFA Football 2005.

To bring the FIFA action to the streets, FIFA Street will focus on combining freestyle street soccer with arcade action. Like the other Street titles there will be an emphasis on flare and style to rack up some extra points. With top professional players (none of which have been announced so far), the game will include four on four matches with an inclusion of what EA is calling their dynamic one-on-one encounters in the game. Moving up in the street soccer world will require gathering respect from other players and creating a solid team to dominate the sport.

"What FIFA STREET represents is a movement in soccer and a break from the modern game," says Wil Mozell, senior producer for the project. "We are stripping the sport down to its core and delivering a game that's all about freestyle attitude and individual skill, something I believe is at the heart of every soccer fan."

FIFA Street will be coming out on PlayStation2, Xbox, and GameCube. More information can be found at www.fifastreet.com.
